Current Topics in Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease

Revisamos los progresos acontecidos en el período comprendido entre julio de 2003 y julio de 2004 referentes a la cardiología pediátrica y las cardiopatías congénitas, relacionados con los aspectos diagnósticos y terapéuticos.

De los avances diagnósticos, analizamos los progresos en genética y biología molecular, así como los relacionados con el diagnóstico por imagen referentes a la ecocardiografía tridimensional, la resonancia magnética y la tomografía computarizada.

En cuanto a los aspectos terapéuticos, destacamos las novedades en ablación de arritmias en niños pequeños y las indicaciones de desfibrilador implantable. Igualmente comentamos las novedades en dispositivos y técnicas en cardiología intervencionista, así como las novedades en cirugía cardíaca.

Asimismo, realizamos una puesta al día sobre los avances en cardiología fetal.

Por último, reflejamos los aspectos actuales de la organización y las actividades de la cardiología pediátrica en España.
