Azucena Saavedra was an inspiration in the production department of Elsevier journals, where she began work in 2003. Azucena died suddenly on December 28, 2022, at the age of 44 years. Those of us who were fortunate enough to know and work with her can attest to her exceptional skill and talent. She was meticulous and thorough in her work, friendly, admirable, a great team player, and above all, highly professional. Her contagious laugh will stay with us forever, like a timeless echo of her contributions to all the Elsevier España journals she handled as a journal manager, Revista Española de Cardiología among them.. Known as Azu by those close to her, her skilled editorial assistance ensured that Spanish and Latin American research was shared with the world in the form of scientific articles. As her colleagues, we would like to pay tribute to her. Azu, we miss you.
