To the Editor,

We have read the letter by Ruiz-García et al. regarding our article1 and we would like to make 2 comments.

First, we would like to say that we were unaware of the Soria project published in the journal Celtiberia.2 Not only do we applaud the initiative, but, given the similarity in terms of geographical distribution of the population, we would be very interested to see their results.

Second, we would like to emphasize that we share their opinion on the importance of training the general population in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and, as described in our article, in addition to 4000 students, more than 10 000 people were trained in various awareness-raising events during the study period.1 Training the general population has been a priority in the Girona Territori Cardioprotegit project from the start, and the establishment of a specific target of secondary school pupils is in line with the recommendations of the World Health Organization in the Kids save lives initiative3 to which they refer in their letter.
