Professor of Medicine-Cardiology at the University of València and Head of the Cardiology Department of the Hospital Clínic Universitari de València. He has published more than 500 articles in journals indexed in Pubmed and has been recognized for 6 six-year research periods by the Spanish Ministry of Education. He has supervised 14 doctoral theses. Principal investigator in 9 projects and in 5 personnel hiring programs at the Carlos III Health Institute. Since 2007 he has been the principal investigator of the Clinical Cardiology Group of the Hospital Clínic Universitari de València at the Centro de Investigación Biomédica en Red de Enfermedades Cardiovasculares (CIBERCV). He was associate editor of Revista Española de Cardiología from 2009 to 2014 and its Editor-in-Chief from 2014 to 2015, as well as associate editor of REC: Interventional Cardiology from 2018 to October 2021. In the years 2020 and 2021 he was the director of the Agency for Research of the Spanish Society of Cardiology (AISEC).
